  • You must only receive employment income from one employer for the full tax year.
  • You must have no other form of income, such as car allowance, business income, and rental income, taxable interest, or income from another job.
  • You must not have any additional allowable tax-related deductions to claim, such as medical expenses, retirement annuity contributions, and travel expenses.

WHEN IS THE TAX SEASON DEADLINE?

Individuals using eFiling and the SARS MobiApp have a tax season starting from July and ending in December. Other taxpayers who prefer to visit a SARS branch can file their tax returns from August to October. 

However, provisional taxpayers have some grace period which normally runs till the ending of January.
